Previous Projects
A/P Associates has extensive experience in all areas of urban planning.
The following are just some of the projects A/P Associates has worked on over the past 18 years.
- Tooele Army Depot Base Reuse Plan
- The Base Reuse Commission chose A/P Associates to carry out a Base Reuse Planning Process to determine the future utilization of the base due to closure of the base by BRAC. A/P Associates was responsible for the overall project management, coordination of subcontractors during the planning process, and interface with the Base Reuse Commission.
- Weber County Economic Development Strategies Plan
- A/P Associates conducted an assessment of economic development potential to formulate strategies for development in Weber County to compensate for the loss of activity due to the closure of the Ogden Defense Depot (DDO) by BRAC. The intent was to assess the existing economic development delivery system and update the capacity process in Weber County to mitigate the economic impact due to the closure of DDO.
- North Salt Lake Redevelopment Project Areas
- A/P Associates assisted the client in following the state guidelines for economic development. Responsibilities included the preparation of an economic plan for the project areas, drafting of all ordinances and resolutions to adopt, preparation of official redevelopment plans, and assistance in final adoption of redevelopment project areas. Assistance was also provided in conducting necessary public hearings and coordination with tax entities.
- Murray School District Growth Study
- The Murray School District requested an abbreviated analysis of residential growth potential within its jurisdiction with emphasis upon production of a mounted map of the area and identification of vacant parcels and potential for future development. The study also provided estimates of school age persons per family anticipated for each development.
- Historical/Architectural Inventories of Salt Lake City Neighborhoods
- These studies inventoried the unique architectural/historical elements in selected Salt Lake City neighborhoods including unique urban design and historical resources. The study provided a database for the city to determine priorities for historical preservation.
- Bountiful Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Ordinance
- A comprehensive plan was developed for Bountiful, a city of approximately 35,000 population. A/P Associates also provided assistance to the city in preparation of a redevelopment program for the business core area. An innovative zoning ordinance based upon regulation within neighborhood districts was produced.
